Legislative Advocacy Training- Tuesday May 15th at WRC 

This training will cover Legislative and Budget processes and the most effective ways to engage at the grassroots level with your representatives. Ensuring your voice is heard by elected officials – and your community’s needs are understood – is critical to giving your center a voice and position of respect in the conversations that are always happening about the developmental services system.

  • How a bill actually becomes a law
  • The Budget – from November Estimates to June signing
  • Effective advocacy on legislation; it’s all in the timing
  • Real-time resources
  • Grassroots advocacy, not astroturf activism
  • In the House and in the Home: developing lasting relationships with your representatives
